Help getting an arcade monitor
« on: December 06, 2006, 09:40:02 am »
I'm building a cabinet and want an Arcade monitor something like a Wells Gardner.
They dont seem to be readily available in UK.  Is there a way of sourcing one new/second hand or is there a recommend alternative?

If you plan on just using your cabinet for MAME are there any pro's/con's to using an LCD over a CRT or vise versa?

LCD's would be cool, if not ideal, but for the backlighting issue inherent in  the technology.  This results in a kind of glow, a sort of glare that overshadows (there's a contradiction, eh?) the graphics, that is very apparent in vintage, and particularly vector, games.  Basically, anything with a lot of black.
