Need help filtering out Games for Cocktail
« on: November 21, 2006, 04:07:45 pm »
I am building a Cocktail table and have been trying to filter out the games I can play on vertical only and number of buttons. I have found Listgen an sortinfo programs but when I try them they only come up with about 14 vertical games out of 6000+. What am I doing wrong??

Thanks for any help

Hi,

I've created a small database in Access format, that displays the games according to a SQL filter that you can modifie the way you want. For instance, I have filtered the main list with only the games that are perfectly emulated regarding to all the status variables and no clones.

It works with any version of Mame that can produce the xml file with all the games data. It has however some manual work to be done to insert the data. Nevertheless it's quite simple. If you're interested, I may send you a copy  of an empty one, and instructions on how to "fill it". Then you just have to change the SQL accord to what you want, or even create new queries.

Note: You also need some utility to export the xml data to delimited text, and it's not much regarding design or functions. I've just began anyway ...  ;D
