MameWAH and other emulators
« on: March 27, 2003, 02:14:46 am »
What emu's is everyone using with MameWAH? I have ZSNES working, but I would like to use Genisis, Sega Master System, NES, etc...

Any other EMU's worth the time?

i found a load of Nintendo Game & Watch emulators that i'd love to get running through MAMEwah, but i'm not sure how to do it

i'd like them all to appear in their own menu, but, as each game is an .exe file, and there is no 'main' emulator you use, i don't know how to set it up in MAMEwah...

?

Gens (Genesis) emulator works great - make sure you set the 'Show DOS Box' option to 'Yes' or you won't be able to see it.  I haven't tried any NES/Master System emus, anyone recommed any?

Radiator: you can't easily setup MAMEWAH for use with programs atm, hopefully next release it should be possible :)

great FE anyway, but one more question:

can you set it up so it'll loop an MP3 (or just play a playlist) when browsing games, then stop playing as soon as you run a game, but start playing again (or resume) when you exit back to MAMEwah?

what can we expect in the next release?

cheers

Um, not at the moment, but maybe I'll add that once I've re-written the sound stuff :)

what can we expect in the next release?

You will be able to customise the looks, and alter what/where/how everything is displayed (and in what resolution),
Customisable keys,
Up to 10 types of artwork,
Support for Howard's wrappers (including emusaver wrapper),
Ability to launch .SCR screensavers,
20 Custom lists per emulator - generated manually or using filters,
Muliple MAME's will be possible,
'Lock' feature,
ArcadeOS NMS file support for emus that like short filenames,
Some more stuff I can't remember.

It should be quite good, and will increase the currently pretty limited non-MAME emu support to be much more flexible.

I may release it as a Beta, so you guys can help me iron out the bugs (if anyone's interested)...

Is there any chance of an automatic favorites list that would automatically list the say 30 or 40 most commonly played games?  That would be nice to have.
Game programmers do not play games for a living.  Would you say a mechanic drives cars for a living?

Um, 1 or 2 people have suggested it...but I don't plan adding it at the moment, since I have my work cut out already.

I'll make a note & maybe add it in a future release :)

Sorry my my slackness guys  :-\

I am still working on it, but I've decided to make a few fairly major changes to a coupla things, which meant learning some new stuff that I haven't done before...anyway it's going quite well.

My goal is to release before June, which is when I plan to start building my cab  ;D

Thanks for being patient...
