Looking for "Good Distributors" for our Monitors
« on: November 12, 2006, 09:56:27 am »
Hi Everyone, since I started visiting this forum I have received various phone calls for our monitors.
In many cases it is for only 1 monitor.
We are happy to quote you pricing, but what kills us both is the transportation cost of 1 monitor.
Anyway, on with the post, I am looking for new distributors in many of the states. We already have Amusements Plus (NY), Birmingham Vending (AL), Struve (UT) and Moss (IA)

If anyone wants to recommend a "Good Distributor" - what mean by good does not necessarily mean big, we want good service for our customers.

Please shoot me an e-mail.

Our main product Line is the "Tri-mode" monitor which does a great job on CGA(Standard Res). Mid (24Khz) and VGA (640X480).
All sizes use a flat screen picture tube. Sizes include 24.8", 27" and 39", auto frequency, universal power supply.

Great for most games and most mame applications.

We also offer -
27" CGA (standard) with either flat or curved tube.
27" VGA/SVGA (640X480 or 800X600 Digital

We are also expanding to the LCD market.

Please, if you have any suggestions on a distributor near you, please e-mail me as much contact info as possible, call the distributor...

Thanks

It would be great to have your monitors available locally in Houston.  Try these guys http://hafranz.com as they are in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio.

Thanks Matt- Yes Texas/ Houston is on my wish list. I already supply Nickels and Dimes as well as some of Dandy Amusements locations in Texas. Both of these customers have their corporate office place the order and then I drop ship.
I will definitely contact HA Franz -them I know a little about them from a company I used to work with.

Thanks again

How about Betson (www.betson.com)?

Have you also tried C.A. Robinson Distributing in California?

Here in Washington state we only have now Mountain Coin Distributing to take care of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Their service and prices suck, but they are our only local option anymore.

Thanks, Ken- I had forgot about CA Robinson, I'll give them a shout.

So far I have tended to stay away from the bigger players like Betson, past experience they are die hard Wells fans.

Perhaps I will have to see if they are ready for change.

How about Specialty Coin Products (www.coin-opgames.com) in Portland, Oregon?

Have you tried arcadeshop.com?

Also there's: http://amusemp.com (The Great Amusement Emporium)

We just got a couple new monitors for our Rush Alcatraz S/Ds, and they recommended the new 27" Kortek multisync.

Hi Peale, - help me out, does the Rush run at VGA or mid-res.

I have had a lot of customers use our tri-mode in the rush the Rock and have great feedback.

I am always interested in other applications.

Not to knock the competition, but a number of the offshore companies do not take enough care when selecting the yoke and CRT combination. I know that the one you mentioned had a lot of problems when they were used in PGA.

The horizontal impedance of the yoke was too high causing it to overheat and in fact the epoxy glue they use on the yoke actualy melted.

In any case good luck

Thanks again

Rick

I really don't have any input on the matter, but a TX distributor would be great.

I found Amusement Distributors of Texas through a search online:
http://www.amusementdistributors.com/

It looks like they already carry Billab monitors, but a little friendly competition never hurt anybody. On the plus side, they don't sell a single WG monitor. Maybe they're more open to lesser-known brands.

Tell them that you've got someone who will drive up to their door with a credit card and walk away with one of those 24.8" tri-res monitors if they carry them, a Southern California option would be sweet. :)

Wow! A 39" Tri-Mode Monitor!  How much is that?  I might need one.

Hi Guys thanks again for the leads-

I called HA Franz in TX, looks somewhat positive, I am working on freight quotes for them.

Thanks Ken, I got swamped today and did not get a chance to call CA Robinson, but do have my freight carriers working on the freight so I can call tomorrow.

If you have a chance call these guys and for us by name, it will sure open the doors.

As far as the 39" Tri-res goes or anything else- for now if I do not have a distributor close- call or e-mail me direct.

I will do everything possible.

Thanks again

Finally we in the Pacific Northwest have a real alternative to Mountain Coin:

Specialty Coin in Portland, Oregon was just appointed a Merit touchscreen game distributor. Here's a press release with the contact info for Specialty Coin:

http://www.meritgames.com/MeritNews/Press/2006/New%20Distributor.asp

I think you ought to contact Specialty Coin. I think they'd make an excellent distributor here for your monitors.

BTW, Amusements Plus is an excellent company, but I wish they had a website.

Living in Rochester, I have been to Amusements Plus before, and the last time I was there they said they were working on a website.

Hi Grant, the UK is a problem for us for a couple of reasons:
- shipping costs would be astronomical
- the new RoHS regulations around lead content. This requires a huge amount of documentation.
- We have done the RoHS for our 39" with the tri-mode chassis, but without substantial volume the other sizes may not be practical.

This does not mean we are not open, we just need a big enough demand.

Thanks again
