Mad Planets - what a great game!
« on: November 09, 2006, 06:22:40 pm »
I have just rediscovered this game (I had always written this game off as crap; what was I thinking)

It is amazing, my current favorite.   It is just as intense as Robotron but with amazing adrenaline rushing music.

I think what makes it work so well for me is the thumping music mated to the intense gameplay.

Wow; if you have the correct controls, give this game a try, super intense.   When my last game ended, I was sweating and my hand was cramped from unconsciously squeezing the joystick too hard.

BTW, I'm looking for a link for gameplay hints/tips as well as game history.  The included history.dat is pretty thin on details.  Any leads?

A friend just gave me the book that your avatar pic comes from for a baby gift.  What  great book.

Yes, it is a great book.  My son's favorite at the time that I made it my avatar.

Does anyone have any leads on a website with hint/tips/history or more info on Mad Planets?

Yeah, easy to overlook that game.  Very good but you really have to have the proper controls to enjoy it.  Kinda like Spy Hunter - just can't really be played in MAME on a keyboard config effectively.

Actually, one of the reasons I finally opted for a modular CP for my cab is due to Mad Planets.  :)  It's one of a fistful of games out there that you really have to play on a dedicated cab or reasonable facsimile thereof.
