Help finding Monitor that will fit in my cab
« on: November 04, 2006, 05:26:59 pm »
So I am stripping a Hacked Neo geo cabinet I have (not an original, as the back of the unit has an Atari Sticker..no clue what game it was). Anyway, it had a Med Res 25" monitor in it (which is in sorry shape). So, I was thinking of the Betson or billabs 27", but after removing the old one...I do not think those will fit. There is exactly 231/2" space from side to side, and the old monitor was 23" wide. Does anyone make a 25" monitor liek the D9200 or Betson 27"?

Neo Geo is standard res only, are you sure your old monitor is medium res?

What was wrong with your old monitor?

Currently there are no *new* 25" monitors for sale (unless you can find some NOS).  Wells Gardner has started making 24.8" monitors in their place.  You can find the reason why with a search.

The manual from the monitor was in the unit, it says its an Atari Wells Gardner Med Res monitor. There are no markings on the monitor itself, I tried checking that first.

It needed a cap kit, the picture was fuzzy (adjusted the focus, no help), and it was scratched on the glass.

They sell a tri mode 25" monitor (well 24.8" like everyone else now, but let's call it 25" it's easier). Not quite the same as a D9200, but it's as close as you can get in a 25" that I'm aware of.

The website is way out of date, just e-mail them.

just a quick note, you can polish out most scratches on screens, all it takes is a decent metal polish (Brasso / Silvo here in the UK)
