Printing Problem Resolved (Thanks www.mamemarquees.com)
« on: November 01, 2006, 09:18:30 pm »
I ordered a set of graphics from Scott over at www.mamemarquees.com in September.  What I bought was a marquee, cpo and monitor bezel.

The whole set showed up in in a relatively short time and I was happy with the delivery.  The materials used in their product are great.  The CPO looked awesome and I couldn't have asked for anything better in a marquee.

The problem came when I went to use the bezel.  Scott had printed it the wrong size.  OK, everyone has a bad day, so I emailed him with a dimensioned .pdf drawing of the bezel.  He quickly apologized, which I accepted and said that he would send me a replacement as soon as possible.  This was again, still in September.

Well, it's been more than a month now, I've emailed him and been ignored for long enough.  I've asked for my money back this week and still no response.  I have since sold the cabinet and no longer have any need for the artwork.

So while the product may be good, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.  I hope Scott reads this and doesn't make the same mistake in the future.  Unfortunately, I've learned my lesson.  I just hope this helps someone else.

Sorry to hear that. I've only dealt with them once, but Scott went out of his way to make sure things went well. I would not hesitate to buy from him again. :)

Scott's response time and customer service have been awesome in my experience. YMMV. I feel very comfortable with being almost ready to send him a complete batch of files for my cab.

Scott went out of his way to fix three problems with things that were printed for a friend of mine too.  I was actually impressed with the customer service he gave my friend.  That's why I didn't even hesitate to place the order with him in the first place.  Knowing that, I didn't get too upset when I found out something was screwed up on my order.

The CPO and the Marquee that I purchased were both bought out of his "bargain bin" because he had printed them wrong for someone else.

What I should have focused on was that he screwed up my friends order three times and the only thing that he had to actually make for my order he screwed up.

I would venture to say that attention to details isn't Scott's strong suit.  In fact, I'm willing to be that he's not even aware that he owes me anything.  I doubt that this was deliberate, but after a month and several emails I have no other course of action.  I'm out $40.00 for a bezel that I ordered and no longer have a use for because he's taken way too long to correct his mistake.

I am issuing a credit today.  The end of Sept beginning of Oct were not good times with my wife having surgery and this slipped through the cracks.  Other then the email the other day asking for a refund, I don't think you have emailed me in the last 3-4 weeks.  Not that that matters... it should not have happend in the first place.

I am the typical geek, very technical and love tinkering with things to see if I can supply a better product.  What I am not great at is bookwork and keeping track of returns, which I get very few of...  That is where my wife comes in, she is an accountant and very anal, so we make a good team and she usually gets on me when I need to reprint something. With her out of commission for those 4-5 weeks I let a few things slip through the cracks....  (I probably should look through those 4-5 weeks worth of emails to make sure no one else is stewing out there)

If you need anything else in the future, it is on me, just send me a note

I knew there was a reason, Scott isn't the type to short-change people on a deal, in my experience anyway and I'm sure there are countless others as well. There's always that small chance you'll be the one that was fogotten, but I'd play those odds.

The experience I had with Scott was great as well.  He was very prompt and even though I did have a problem with how my marquee and CP printed (both my fault BTW) Scott QUICKLY made the required adjustments and got me the revised materials right away.

I know we all expect the very best from anyone we buy stuff from but realizing that Scott isn't a large print shop and does offer IMO the best product out there, I think it's reasonable to cut the guy some slack here and there.

That said, better communication in your situation would have been nice but if I or anyone I know ever needs anything printed that is within Scott's capabilities I would be the first to recommend or use him again.

Scott, I hope your wife has a speedy recovery!

Scott,

I got your email this morning.  I do appreciate the response and I'm looking forward to the refund.  As I said in the previous posts, I have NO complaints about the quality of what was sent.  I just hoped I would have gotten the rest of it.

Anyway, I honestly didn't know about your wife and I'm truly sorry to hear about it.  I hope she is feeling better and that everything will be ok.

Anyway, thanks for making this right.

Nice work scott. The OP needs to change the title.

Scott made a mistake and he's fixing it. He is to be commended.

Good suggestion.  This wasn't a witch hunt, and everyone deserves a second chance.
