My 1st MAME cabinet - Burgertime DECO conversion

My 1st mame arcade machine is finished. I couldn't be more happy.
I wound up having to buy a new NEC AS900 monitor because the
original Princeton I had in there went bad. I had to fix the X-arcade
several times and they even sent me another unit, but I'm VERY happy
with it at the moment. I'm making a web page that documents all the
things I did to the cabinet and hardware along with pics. I'll submit it to the project archive when its done.

Here are some pics. I plan to add more side art, I'm just short on money for the project because I had to buy a new screen! Let me know what you think, good or bad please.

That's a cool gameroom you have down there, anymore pictures of the gameroom?  That's that 'silly6' or something game underneath the slot machines?

Yes, That is Silly 6 Pins, its a kids bowling game. The pins talk and stuff, very fun.

I like it except for the x-arcade. What kinda software are you running in it? What are your hardware (computer) specs?

The X-Arcade is a great control panel. I do plan on replacing the black buttons with red and blue and putting an overlay on it.

The cabinet is running an AMD athlonxp2800+ with 1 gig ram on an ASUS a7n8x-e deluxe mobo. Software is windows xp mamewah and mame32.
I also have Daphne setup and Stella for Atari 2600 games.

I think what they are saying is -

You spent a good amount of time and made quite an effort to make it look like an arcade cabinet. The x-arcade actually detracts from it looking like an arcade because it looks out of place. You can use the x-arcade and pcb, but mount it into your own control panel and it would like much more professional. If you put your own overlay on it.... that would make it look much more put together too.

Yes, as I said above, I do plan on an overlay for exactly that reason.

That leads me to ask.... Is there a vendor who sells overlays for the x-arcade? It seems to be a very popular product, so I figured maybe someone sells these ready to go on the panel.

If not I'll have to place another order with classicarcadgraphics.com.

Still working on my cabinet.... I've changed the control panel a bit.
I plan to add some art work to the CP to liven it up.
Also, I think I will replace the sticks with the Ultimarc ones that can go 4 or 8 way switchable from the top of the CP.

do you like the pashinko ? i use to have one, but it drive me crazy, all the noise and balls bouncing

Thanks. Yes I like the pachinkos. I have 2 of them a Godzilla theme and a Star Blazers theme. I do like the Pachislo slots better though.

Where did the Joust side art come from if you don't mind me asking?  Is it one piece or did you stencil it on?
