No vertical hold in Mame?
« on: October 26, 2006, 11:02:46 pm »
I have an ArcadeVga driving a standard res monitor. Everything works fine in windows and in Mamewah, however when Mame itself launches , I get a rolling screen. This can be adjusted out with Vhold, however when I switch back to the FE, it rolls back the other way. Any ideas are appreciated!

Thanks!

Dave

Dave,

Welcome to the world of oldschool technology.  I have the exact same problem with my Electrohome G07.  I have about 60% of my resolutions that will show fine one way,  but will roll for the other 40% unless I adjust it out,  but then the other 60% rolls...so I decided on going with the 60% and just eliminated resolutions that rolled.

In my case any res that has 288 rolls...so I just don't use that resolution.

Each game can be assigned a different res.  MAME will automatically attempt to use one,  but it may be one that rolls (unless you completely disable that resolution).
