Lik-Sang out of business
« on: October 24, 2006, 06:01:30 pm »
Lik-Sang buckled under Sony's lawsuits and has declared themselves out of business.  They're in the process of cancelling orders and refunding store credits, etc.  For anyone who is unaware, Sony is suing them for importing into the European market before Sony officially releases products there.  According to Sony Lik-Sang is doing irrepairable damage to their business by facilitating imports.  Obviously this is a load of ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow---, but Lik-Sang isn't a major corporation with a team of high-powered lawyers.  They simply couldn't afford to fight the lawsuit.  God our legal system (and wherever in Europe Sony is fighting this) is ---fouled up beyond all recognition--- up.

Yeah, it was pretty easy for me to make the choice to boycott them too, seeing as I wasn't really planning on buying anything of theirs anyway.

F*k Sony, Lik-Sang is like an old friend to the gamers of the world.  The forums were awesome too for random gaming info. I'm glad I bought a DS Lite and not a PSP recently.

I hope not. They're one of the few import retailers that has a website in english (other than lik-sang  :'().

Too bad. The GP2X had just been reduced to $150 at lik-sang, and I was going to get one.

Terrible gaming news.  I doubt PlayAsia will be affected, as the lawsuit specifically targeted a violation by liksang selling wrong region psp's (asia to europe).

As to if they'll re-open under a new name, who knows  :dunno

As to not supporting Sony, I'm all over that.  I DO have a PSP (that I love) but I won't be buying a PS3, and I no longer buy Sony consumer electronics...Panasonic is my new favorite brand  :D
