Rookie Web Question. It's help the noob day! Yeaaaaaaah!

Alright,  I have a domain name through godaddy and an ebay store.  How to I make the domain name automatically go to the e-bay store?

I know how to do it thru joker.com, but haven't had any experience with godaddy.com.  I imagine it's similar, though.

You need to setup a 'domain forward'.  I'm guessing somewhere in the setup portion there are options for this.  You'll have to enter the URL you want forwarded to when someone enters your domain name in.

Ebay may not like that, though.

Peale is right, login at godaddy.com, click on my account.

Than click on "Manage Domain Forwarding"
Click on your domain name
In the "Forward to:" box enter the URL to your ebay store.
Be sure to click "Enable" near the top.

Hit "Ok" and wait a few hours for it to become active.

Ebay may not like that, though.

Shouldn't be a problem, all it does is bring you directly to that page on eBay's server.

Not a technical problem, no.

Could be a policy problem.  I suspect we'd be seeing more of this type of thing out there if it were allowed.  It would be against policy to prevent domain spoofing or misrepresentation of Ebay's IP.

Thanks Guys, I got it working.  I had no idea it was already paid for and ready to go.

As for the debate.  I think ebay encourages it as a way to generate traffic.  If I'm wrong, maybe they'll let me know.  I hope not.

If every cloud has a silver lining, then Chad will seek it out and point out the fact that its not really silver, its more grey, and grey clouds mean rain
