Very old PC. what can I put on this?
« on: October 22, 2006, 11:03:42 am »
I have been given a compact presario 5528
CPU pentium (70 meg) ( I think)
hard drive 1gig
ram 40 meg
windows 95
(i can put 98se on it if you think it can handel it)

I really would not even think of this PC but my 2 year old nephew would like it I think
I have much more powerfull PCs I could give him but this one just looks so cool

I did get all the restore disks and floppy.
I did restore it.

I can not use the Crayola Track ball on it. No serial port  :badmood:
I have another PS2 track ball I can use

monitor is built in so vertical games would be a pain.
like vantage
I have down loaded callus 95
hive and Mame 36
I still have yet to install them.
This PC I am on has no floppy so I still need to burn my downloads to CD
any Ideas a 2 year old would like that can run on this old PC
here is a pic

also Games his mom and dad could play with
not a must.. Thay have a HP pavilion I need to fix up for them. I can add Mame to it

ahh, skip it.
after 2 small games I ran out of hard drive
I will take it apart and look inside it. ( I really wanted to see callus running on it)
( would make a great bar top)
I might save it for a larger hard drive
I dug out a 837 mhz PC
256 ram
40 gig HD
XP Pro put on it
added a sound blaster live sound card 5.1 seround sound ( over kill but I had it laying around)
I have a few empty cabs ( I have them for free in Buy/Sell/Trade) no bites
I will just build it for the whole family as a Xmas gift
and add juke box

Old PC? Try DOS for MAME .36, Raine, Vantage, or Juke

I had vantage running quite nicely on my old P100 laptop.

I thought vantage put the games vertical?
sounds like I am wrong.
I will try it. seems like a very long time since I played with it.
