Illegal MAME cab on Ebay
« on: March 24, 2003, 10:09:33 pm »
Check this out http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13716&item=3215365758  Someone is selling this as a williams multigame when in fact it is obviously a PC based MAME cab with a frontend..  Some jerkoff took a gutted williams cab put in a probably low end PC and is make a big chunk of change.. more so than even the authentic arcade machine would cost and the artwork looks generic as hell...
So let's see, he never mentions that its a PC when it obviously is.  He's selling MAME and Roms and a frontend and making money off of somebody elses hard work...   Does this piss anybody else off besides me?

So, report it to eBay rather than posting it here.  The more people that report it, the more likely it will be pulled. I already reported it on Sunday.

we need a generic letter of complaint that everyone can send to Ebay when filing a complaint... i think if we had that AND a link to the complaint form on Ebay we would get more people complaining..

You haven't heard of williams multigame?

Though this one is fishy because I thought Williams multigame was only 6 games.

Note, that;s all custom graphics too.

I'd do more research before reporting him.  Email him and ask something about the pcb or power supply or jamma.

According to the experts, this is not a Clay multigame.  Make Trax was Z80 based and the other Williams games were 6809 based so the hardware isn't even compatible.  The popular opinion seems to be that it must be MAME, or some elaborate multi-board multigame, but that would be even less believable.  I have to side with the RGVAC'ers on this one.

its PC based.. you can tell by the monitor being within the original bezel.. its a 17in black PC monitor its pretty obvious and like Oscar said those games used different hardware so its not the Clay Cowgill kit that we've all seen before... oh well, either way its gone now so apparently Ebay didnt like it either.. ;)
