Where did you reserve it?   I didn't know anyone was taking preorders.  If I could get one at launch, or even any time in November I'd be on it in a Heartbeat.*

*  of course it'd be immediately sold on Ebay

Gamestop.  Word on the street is that Wii pre-orders start this Friday.

i thought gamestop and ebgames said they weren't going to do preorders for the Wii?  Theres going to be plenty of them at launch, so I'm not worried about getting one anyways.  If they are taking preorders, then I'll probably do it just to be sure I get one close to launch.

Also, I'm waiting for the second or third wave of PS3 games to come out  and until after the initial shortage of consoles is over before buying it.r

I just don't see how it could not end up on ebay  :)

What do they have?  Is Metal Gear even a launch title?  Assassin's Creed and GTA are cross platform.  Put that sumbitch on Ebay and you can buy a 360, Wii and a PS3!!!

PS3 = $600
PS3 on Ebay shortly after launch = $1200

PS3 + Xbox 360 + Wii = 1250

Common!!!  Wouldn't that be worth waiting a couple months for a PS3 you could play with?    ;D  You'd have to be crazy not to put that sumbitch on Ebay.  I remember seeing a $400 Xbox 360, not bundled with a single thing, go for $1700 the day after launch!  I personally scored a PS2 about a week after launch and made almost exactly double what I paid for it by immediately selling in on Ebay, and I would have got at least $200-$300 more for it had I scored one on launch day.  I'd say $1200 is a fairly conservative figure for what you'll be able to get for it directly after launch.

Wii preorders are confirmed for Friday.   :) I know I'm getting one, but do you guys think it's necessary to preorder? They have like, 2 million units or something like that.

i went to EB on tuesday morning, there were about 10 people in front of me,
that meant that even if i preordered there would still not be a PS3 for me. small stores only get like 7 to 10 units, and 2-4 of those (at least) go to employees, and of course their friends.
so i left..
ill save my 100.00$ from permanent limbo and take my chances with EB, circuit city on launch day.

If you really want one, why take a chance?  Granted, the Wii is no Elmo TMX but it's still being hyped as one of the hottest toys for Christmas which is why I'll be reserving one just in case.

Not buying a PS3. They just cost too much.

I will buy a Wii, but I can wait until I can just walk into a store and walk out with one. I'm not big on pre-orders. It's not like I don't have any other video games to play while I'm waiting.

Denied!

Went down to Gamestop this morning and was turned away.  They took eight pre-orders.

lol, thats probably how many ps3 preorders they took as well, which is odd since there will be a lot more Wii's then ps3's.  I have two gamestops about a mile from here, so I'll go check them out at lunch today.  I'll probably also preorder Guitar Hero 2 for the ps2.

I got one... and it's going straight to eBay.  I just don't see how anyone could keep it if you can really make an easy $600 minimum.  I'll just use the profit to buy a PS3 in the spring when there might actually be some fun games to play...
