can't you save on mame?
« on: March 22, 2003, 06:41:10 pm »
I thought one of the perks of mame was that if you wanted to save at any position in the game you hit left shift with f7 then it prompts for a letter to save to so then i hit 'a' on the keyboard. So then to test it i restart game hit f7 then hit 'a' the key that had the position and i get nothing? on quite a few games i'v tried to save and no luck i'd really love to be able to save my games if anyone has any ideas what i'm doing wrong it be great.............

do you know how to check to see if a driver supports saving? will the driver have a command or something to look for that will tell me?

Yeah you run the game, make a high score, and if it doesn't save it then it doesn't support saving.

Sorry but ask a stupid question....... ;)
