YAY! Finally some progress! Painting is done!

I installed the speakers, computer, marquee light, and t-mold yesterday.

More to come as progress warrants.

My niece did the artwork. I know its a bit unorthodox but she pretty much nailed the look I wanted.

damn dude... very well done. Now you'll have to be extra careful moving that sucker around. You may be the first guy who puts plexi on the side of his cab.

LOL! Yeah...she threatened death if I messed it up.
She is giving me the name of a clear acrylic or whatever it is, that she uses on her projects. She used it on a "Margaritaville" themed patio furniture thing for her brother. It seems to hold up well.

I'll pass the compliment on to her Lew...she was really worried about how it would turn out.

Thanks for the comment DK! I think she will be very pleased hearing that from you...after I show her your wife's work.

Just to clarify also as I did not mention it...The Mario and Bowser are vinyl graphics, the rest was my niece.

Whelp...I did it...I did the sin...I got the stupid thing operational before the cab was completed.

I will disassemble it so work will progress...I promise. No really...I will.

Seriously. I wanted to make sure the monitor worked before the warranty expired. I didn't want to just plug it into a computer and then have a "charged monitor". It does work and it looks awesome.

It shouldn't be too long now.

Beautiful side art! Just make sure to disconnect the control panel, or you will never finish it...

Thanks for all the compliments.

I should be putting the finishing touches on it this weekend! Well...except for the marquee...that will be added later.

Here are a few pics...sorry I suck at taking pics.

Woah, Mario meets Redneck Rampage?

Just kidding, that looks great. I thought the first pic was a photoshop mockup until I saw the other side where I could make out the brush strokes. Seeing this kind of art makes me wish I didn't screw around so much during art class. It was just too damn hard to draw a cube.  :banghead:

Does she do art for a living?

Hey dude...me and you are in the same boat, our wives artwork on our cabs will always be the focal point. Nothing we can do will change that. We just have to accept the fact that we were both out done by our wives in the creativity dept.

LOL!...never thought of the Redneck Rampage connection. The swamp scene is just keeping ties with my home state (Louisiana). Wait til I get the alligator heads mounted.
I'm with you on the art thing...I can't draw a decent looking stick man.
My niece doesn't do art for a living...she just "dabbles" in it  She had some formal training in shading and such in her architecture classes, but is mainly self taught.

Thanks for the comment DK! I think she will be very pleased hearing that from you...after I show her your wife's work.

Ya...I'm not much for creativity...and even when I do get a creative thought, I don't have the skill to bring it to fruition.

Thanks Kay! The next project is in planning already...I've got an empty Taito cab that is pretty beat up. I'm going to get my boys to recondition the cab and make a smaller MAME machine for their room. My plan is to have them do the majority of the work.

Thanks for all the compliments guys...My niece really appreciates the accolades. She was extremely worried that it would not look good.

Getting real close now! I need to get a piece of smoked plexi (hopefully this weekend) and then mount the speaker grilles.

I am going to add the marquee later as it is cost prohibitive at the moment.

Any graphics artists out there willing to whip up a design for the "GATORCADE" ?

The alligator heads on top are real gator heads and I used LED's to illuminate the mouths.

The track ball does light up...just can't see it real good in the pics...that's why I took the very dark pic. It has a nice soft blue glow that is not overpowering.

Again...forgive the atrocious picture taking skills.

Just a small update. Installed the plexi and speaker grilles. Currently working on a marquee.

Got a rare pic of the wife playing the cab...she'll lambast me for posting it...but it is a rare shot, so I had to.

Sorry for the bad pics...try as I might, I suck at taking pics.
