Centipede monitor?

Newbie Alert  This is my first arcade game (one of two) and my first restoration!

Anyhow...
I'm restoring a Centipede upright in my spare time (a labor of love) and I need monitor help badly!

The monitor in the Centipede (Atari 1980) is a 19 inch Wells Gardner, model 19K4605 (serial wg 945002).  It is mounted vertically.  Unfortunately, the neck board was smashed and has some missing pieces off of the remaining PCB.  It is also missing the interface card.  Some of the shims on the tube are broken.  The horizontal/vertical card and main power board are intact.  The tube looks okay, with some burn-in.

I need help deciding what to do.  Questions:
Should I go new?  An arcade distributer quoted me a $300 price for a new monitor that "would work," but that seems high considering I could go to Best Buy and buy a new 19 inch TV for $100.  Does anyone have some links to some cheaper arcade monitors, or is this price fair?

I've seen some Wells Gardner neck boards, power boards, etc. loose on E-bay.  Should I buy one of these and try to rehab the abused original Centipede monitor?  I'm no TV repairman. 

Is there a handy guide for hooking one of these up to a Centipede?

You didn't mention where you were located, but in the US, used 19" monitors can be had from free to around $100.  New ones on sale usually go around $150, plus shipping. 

Of course if you live close enough to a distributor you could pick one up and save on the shipping.

yeah, no need to pay $300 for a monitor for Centipede.  $150ish is bout right unless you were to jam it into a new case w/a 25" screen or something. LOL

Yes, I had the feeling the price was a ripoff.  Does anyone have some favorite online sites for monitors?

How would I go about hooking this up to the Centipede?  I bought another arcade game with the Centipede (Xybots) and it has a totally different video hookup.

Actually, the tube appears to be fine, it's just the boards are either gone or smashed.

All monitors have inherently the same hookups, but differnt pinouts.

Red, Green, Blue, Ground & Sync.  And of course A/C power.

It will depend on your monitor, of course, how you hook everything back up.

 I could use some advice. I have an old Atari centipede cabaret game machine.
 Don't know if you will advise me but the game I bought last week died. The G07 19" monitor just stopped showing the pic and doesn't light up at the end of the picture tube. I checked it and it is get 120v to the monitor 2 wire plug. Any thing you could suggest? When I was shown the game it seemed to take a while to show the pic 4-5 mins. It did than work fine for a week at my place. Its a Atari Centipede cabaret game. My wife thinks she did it as she moved the game a foot but she didn't. Do I try a cap kit or find a new monitor? Maybe someone can tell me just where to kick it to get it working again. I really think eventually it could start up again. Thanks Ron
