Available at Radio Shack for $29.99 (or ebay for ~$55 shipped). I'm going to go get one tomorrow!

I got one a couple of days ago. Takes a bit to get used to, then you need to weight down the nose so that it flies forwards instead of just hovering. Pretty damn cool for $30.

And to think my dad sunk over $1000 in his R/C helicopter that was nearly impossible to get off the ground without crashing...

I think I will ask for this for my birthday that is coming up.

Well, it's not to be confused with the expensive 'real' ones. Those things are awesome (once you get the hang of them). However, this little guy is damn damn neat, and you CAN get it flying in no time. Seems to be pretty sturdy for something that has a styrofoam body (maybe that's the good thing!). But geez, for 30 bucks how can you go wrong. The only thing i have found lately that is just about as cool have been the Airsoft tanks. Look them up on ebay.

that heli looks like a lot of fun. it doesnt appear to have the bar things on the bottom for rescue missions though, dang!

I don't think you'd rescue more than a marshmallow with it, you would need one of those crazy jedi choppers from a couple of threads up to rescue even a GI Joe.

Hehe, yeah that guy is pretty dang good. The best guy I've ever seen with one could fly upside down as his best trick. Not alot of people get into the rc helicopters...mainly due to the cost. Those rotors are very dangerous too, even though they are just some sort of hard foam stuff. My dad hit a cinderblock wall one time, and it took a large chunk out of the wall.

The heli? The RC forums are mentioning shortages. I should have bought all 10 they had at the Wal mart, but with my luck they would bring in a huge batch the next day 'half price'

None of my radioshacks or toys'r'useseses have em. And the hobby shop guy tried to upsell me on a $200 chopper. I just want a glorified cat toy, dag nabbit.

They do have em on Toyeast.com... for $45 shipped from overseas. Zoinks. If they're at $40 domestically now, though, that's about the same cost with CA sales tax I guess :\

Got one at The Shack. Pretty cool - nothing to them, tho! Crashed it multiple times with no damage, probably since they weigh just about nothing! Going for $39.95 now, tho. The word is out that they're a hot item.

Now, if I can just get the hang of flying it forwards. . .

Try tweaking the rear blade thing per the manual... where it says if it's moving backwards, twist the rear thingamajigger this way or that way... that helped quite a bit. Otherwise it was just hovering for me... Also try holding it with the nose pointed slightly downward with the rotors going full blast, then letting it go. Sure is quick when you do that!

2 rear rotors down for me. One cracked and one isn't tight on the shaft anymore... should be able to salvage both though. All hardwood floors, no soft furniture, and mr. clumbsy at the controls

Added the pushpin to the nose, now it's flying forwards pretty good. Still gotta mess with the trim a bit. . .

No breaking so far. The thing is so light, I thought it would be nearly impossible to break - guess not!

got mine today.....maiden flight was mostly spent trimming it and watching one of the cats alternate between super interested and totally freaked out!

I was too impatient to wait for the green light to come on (while charging) does it actually come on?

Yeah, it should as soon as it's plugged in. You have to leave the control on to charge but turn the chopper off. . .

I realized that shortly after i posted here, I left it plugged in (controller off) for about an hour and it still was dead

so I actually read the instructions

Such a FUN little toy. We have vaulted ceilings in our living room so I got lots of room to fly! The cats love it...
