Strange stray pixels
« on: September 30, 2006, 04:16:47 pm »
I'm not really sure if this fits in the software forum or what exactly.

Has anyone else noticed that many of the games you can see 1 pixel wide lines down the side and on the bottom?  I'm quite sure these were not there pre version .100  I updated to .109 and now I see these.  The vertical Ms Pac Man is one that is most noticable (in fact all the vertial games are because they don't use the entire screen like horizontal games.  Is this just a side effect of the new video rendering system?  I can't believe the actual arcade games had stray pixels at the outermost edges of the screen like this.  :-\

I think it has something to do with the stretch, because if I set Mame to switch resolutions to fit, I don't see the stray pixels...  I must stretch my games to fit tho cause I use a TV in the cabinet and it can only really work well at one resolution and not all the crazy resolutions these games run at.

Anyhow hope it gets fixed.

EDIT:
With a little more testing it appears to be the setting for Direct 3D version 9 bi-linear filtering in combination with the stretch option that causes the problem...
