University of Minnesota Arcades

Well for the next four years I'll be enjoying these arcade and pinball machines.  All of them are in pretty good shape.  The first three pictures are from the gameroom on the St. Paul campus.  All the other pictures are from the gameroom on the Minneapolis campus.  Sorry, the pictures are a bit blurry.

I am pretty sure all of the games (except Ms. Pacman) cost $0.50 per play.  I wish the machines were free, but then I'd be playing them day and night to beat the high scores.  In the future I may start an arcade cabinet building club here at the UofM that could place cabinets around the campus for students to play for free.

I remember when I was in college....way back in the early 90's....

We had Dr. Who pinball and Jurassic Park pinball..

How do you fire the Rocket Propelled Grenade? 
I had around thirty seconds to fire the dang thing and I couldn't fire it.  Maybe it's broken.

Hey, since you are in Minnesota can you verify for me if the Grand Casino in Hinkley still has their arcade? If so, what condition is it in?

Lucky duck. Was it normal for high schools to have arcades when arcades were popular?

I have never been to a casino, but since you say there is an arcade at the Hinkley one, I will have to visit it sometime to check out the arcade.  I think I have been through Hinkley a lot for heading up north to visit family.

Glad to see it's still around.  That Crazy Taxi used to be another Cruisin' machine.  I spent quite a bit of time playing that.

I saw the website already. Thanks for the link though. 100 machines is definitely a far cry from what the used to have. I was more interested in someone having a first-hand review of what is still there. It sounds like it may not be worth the drive.
I remember they had a battletech game (I'm pretty sure it was called something else though), anyways, it was set to free play. I mastered that game on one trip.
