jamma loom power help

ok ive picked a jamma loom up
was going to use it to test boards with via a scart tv...

it allready has a scart conneted to the rgb ect

just woundering how i could power this without a arcade power supply
what voltage is it?

i have these colourd wires red/green/purple/black/orange

you could use a good pc power supply to get your voltages
i know the usual colour wires to voltage but you are better off getting a jamma pinout and checking the wire locations e.g pin1-common(black wire)
just in case the wires are any different to another jamma loom-best to be safe than sorry

There are no guaranteed standards for jamma wiring color.

And for PC power supplies, also note that the wire coloring (though USUALLY standardized) is also not 100% guaranteed.

Yeah. Usually, and that doesn't mean 100% of the time, you will find that the Black is always ground. The red is most likely +5v, the Yellow is +12V, and the -5 is orange or blue. You have to go by position, not by color.

The only other one that's half assed standard is the monitor cables. They are Red green Blue. The sync is white or gray and the ground is black.

Other than that, it was whatever colored 16 Gage wire that was lying around when they made it.
