Help with Simple SCAN LINES in MAME 108
« on: September 26, 2006, 05:48:08 pm »
Ok, well Basically I'm using Mame 108;
currently I'm able to display http://www.mameworld.net/mrdo/mame_artwork.htmlMr. Do's Arcade Art Bezels' which look wonderful let me add as a side note! (including that new Golden Axe!)
On to the questions.. how do I add scan lines into mame, i just thought it was a 1 or a 0 and then the %of the amount that you want it to appear?
I will later post my #ini file if its needed,

also Im thinking is there any way to have scanlines only on certain games?? i.e. older ones exclusivly pre 1990 etc. ?

I believe the old scanlines routine has been removed from recent versions of mame (since the renderer reqrite - so probably around mame 107) as it is effectively a hack.

However, the rendered supports other approaches through its new fancy artwork support. Someone has created generic Alpha-masks (or something) which when applied simulate scanlines rather well. I've seen them over on the mameworld forums.
