help w/mamewah, wrappers
« on: March 21, 2003, 01:25:55 pm »
Could someone explain to me how to use wrappers?  I want to use mamewah to launch zinc games.  Anyone?

wrappers are my deal so go to:

www.oscarcontrols.com/lazarus/

On lazarus's online documentation there is a section on wrappers.  Much of that data is applicable for using them on other fes as well.

My generic command line wrappers are pre configured for zinc, so you would have a hard time screwing  it up :)

Thanks, Howard.  Unfortunately I'm a bit of a newbie and need someone to walk me through it a bit more.  I read all the documentation, but don't understand a lot of it.  I extracted the files and put them in the zinc directory.  I then pointed the frontend (Mamewah) at new exe file.  I believe lconfig.ini was already set up correctly. When I try to run a game though, I get the dos screen that says zinc but then the screen just goes white and nothing happens.  If I hit escape it will exit.  What am I doing wrong?

Note that I never tested MAMEWAH with the wrappers until my current WIP version, so I cannot gaurantee(?) it will work...but I don't see why not.

If you've set up lconfig.ini OK then I suggest running the wrapper from a commandline or start>run - ie 'cmd-launch romname'.  Remember to send the rompath and maybe the extension too.  If this doesn't work properly then check lconfig...

This is assuming your emulator runs OK independently of the wrapper/fe of course.  Check that ZiNc runs OK on it's own, I have had it play up on me before.
