Transformer input/output questions
« on: September 23, 2006, 11:56:22 am »
Long story short: got the guts of a cab with everything disconnected.  Was able to match all the connections up except for the transformer.  I have a "Peter Chou" p/s that has three wires (black, white, green) sticking out.  I have my transformer that has two connections on top, and 5 on the bottom.  What connects where?  The connections for my monitor and the marquee lights are connected together.  If it matters the spade connectors for the 105v and 125v are bent down while the bottom 0v, 115v, and E are bent up or vertical.

                       0v                              115v 1Amp

                       0v    105v   115v   125v   E

E would be Earth/Ground, I assume?

If so, it should be 0v-White, 115V-Black, E-Green.

You mean for the marquee lights and the monitor? Yes. Usually only the monitor goes after the isolation filter (the marquee lights usually connect to the line filter), but if your cab has them already connected together, then stick with that.

                       0v                              115v 1Amp

                       0v    105v   115v   125v   E

The top terminals are 0v (neutral or white) and 115v (hot or black) isolated output to the monitor only.

The bottom termals are the input power to the transformer and you select the tap closest to your typical line voltage. 0v (white or neutral), 125v (hot or black), and E (green or frame ground) are typical USA power standards.
