Advancemenu game rotation issues
« on: March 21, 2003, 12:41:01 am »
Ok, I just switched from arcadeOS and DOS to Win2k and win mame so that I can upgrade to mame .66.  I looked over allot of front ends and advancemenu is what I went with. I have pretty much everything figured out as far as screen layout and rotating the advancemenu itself.

The one thing I can't seem to figure out is how to set the rotation for individual games. My monitor rotates in my cabnet so I can spin it vertical for galaga, pacman etc. and horizontal for golden Axe and the like.

Anyone know how to set the rotation on the games themselves?

So there is no way to do it from the gui? Also mame.ini changes the rotation of all games. That would mean that I have to change it every time I switch between H and V games.

With arcadeOS one could just hit player 1 fire to set the rotation of each game in the menu. Emulaxian is too much of a hog for the PIII850 I am using, many other guis don't rotate at all, or can't be fully run from the controls. This one is the only one works the best of all for my setup but if I can't set the rotation of each game then I am back to square one.

norotate=1, this tells mame to display only vertical games vertical, horizontal games stay the same.

Great! That gets me moving. The only thing now is that some games rotate left and some right, any magic fix there?

Thats the problem i have, Arcadeos never had this problem
as it rotates all the vertical games left or right, a quick fix would be to make game.ini for the ones that don't rotate in the direction you want so you could just the "ror =1" command by itself for these.
