DS Lite d-pad
« on: September 13, 2006, 06:19:36 am »

Just got a black DS Lite, and I'm having trouble making diagonal movement with the d-pad.. especially UP-RIGHT. I have to press it pretty damn hard to get it registered.

Do you think the d-pad will ease up over time? I'm thinking I have to open it.. but I dunno what I should do to fix it.. perhaps raise the cross with some paper, or file down something  :P

Anyone else have this problem?

I had the same problem with my DS Lite but over time it has loosened up and I can hit diagonals without much effort.

I've used my DS a lot and I haven't noticed this problem.

If one of the diagonals doesn't work right why don't you just exchange it for one that's not defective?

Didn't have a problem with mine.

I'd return that sucker for one that doesn't have the issue.  Even if it does "loosen up", i doubt it will be 100% as good as it should be.

Good luck!

Yeah I exchanged it yesterday.

This one works better, although it seems the DSL wants you to press just a little bit harder on the dpad than the original DS.

I wasn't really looking forward to standing in the exchange queue, 'cos last time when I bought my original DS, I spent 2 days exchanging units with dead pixels - the fourth one was good!

Anyways I'm glad I swapped it, 'cos my Passme2 device (it's a bare pcb) scratched the previous one pretty bad  ;D
