Atomic FE Question
« on: September 07, 2006, 07:21:18 pm »
I know this goes in the jukebox forum, but this got ignored over there, so i decided to try it here,

I cant figure this out lol, I tried setting up a jukebox layout in the manager, set all the directories correctly, and set all options correctly, I assumed i was good to go, or so i thought. When I booted it up, and went from the selection screen to the jukebox, it woulldnt read anything, i think this is becase it wouldnt read sub folders, So my question is, can Atomic FE read sub folders? if not what juke box should i get, i need help :-( lol thanks for anything!

Not much help for you ( I have yet to set up the Juke Box)
but the Roms for the consoles and Mame did not work with sub folders.
I fought this for like 2 days before I found out no sub folders

Once I cut and pasted my Roms into the Plug and Play folders for the right system
( I had to make a new folder. moved my CFG's into the new folder. Started Atomic Fe to the system I wanted, exit atomic . replaced the CFG files back and then Atomic made a Game list.)

(I had to do it that way because my subfolder attempts made a blank game list)

I am sure there is a better way but what the heck.... I got it going  ;D

not sure if MP3's are done the same way but at my first guess it would.

Just sit tight and others much better than me will post
if no help comes you can try here

Sorry i don't read the Jukebox forums.

Atomic built'n Jukebox , is very basic  and does not support browsing in subfolder directly yet. (wil change may be one day but not in short term).

But you can manage to use subfolder ,  but it requires more configuration.
You need to make a Jukebox configuration by subfolder you have.  And then with the Multiconf_wizard , you can built the tree as you want.

That way, you can illustrate each folder by a picture if you wish (example: album cover).  you select the album , and Atomic display the songs.    It is similar to browsing mame category.

Yeah thats what I figured, unfortunately, with 20 gigs of music that would get rather tedious, thanks for the amazing program though man.

You can use SK jukebox and launch it from atomic.  Thats what i will do b/c my wife likes the way it looks.  I still use atomic for random play as I can display random jpegs while the music plays.
