How would I go about building something like this
« on: August 31, 2006, 04:23:47 pm »
I need to devise a switch that will have two items plugged into it.  When the switch is off, I want it to cut all power to both items.  When I switch it on, I want it to power up the first item then wait 1 minute then power on teh second item.

Anyway to do this?

Can't point you to a specific item without any info on the circuit you want to drop it into.

Here is a good list of time delay relays and spec sheets.

just buying a timer switch might be better than a relay for a 1min delay. relays are usually for a few seconds of delay.

Quote from: Quasar
The board has a relay output

That's an adjustable relay.  The main difference is the range of adjustment as the adjustment is controlled outside of the relay itself.

Sounds like what folks used to do with arcade monitors and PCs, I think PC-to-Jamma did this? Where you wait till the PC is loaded into the frontend program that has the resolution and frequency forced to arcade monitor readings and then turn on the monitor as the site said that feeding the arcade monitor the default 60hz etc was bad for it.
