Of all the things I could possibly have agreed with MrC on...  It had to be this.

$40 at Target.  Rechargable.  Hell, if theres no nicks, its paid for itself in one use.

That comment brings up one SERIOUS question that the commercial didn't answer very clearly...

The commercial suggests that there are no nicks.  Amazon.com user reviews tend to agree with minor exceptions.

I've nicked myself once while trimming with an electric razor. Stings a bit, but really not too awful-alot of bloodflow in that area, so it heals fast. Definately better than stories I've heard of razor cuts *shudder* A little Neosporin and all was good as new in about a day and a half. You quickly learn to stretch skin out so it's taut when you trim.

Nicks from shaving with a razor are ALOT worse than nicks from an electric trimmer. Trimmer usually won't even break the skin all the way, it's more of a pinch than anything. And, like I said, holding skin taut removes that danger.

Dude, then ask her what she'd think if you pruned the hedges a bit...bet she gets a glint in the eye. Be prepared, she might be shocked at first. But get an honest answer.

Also, I think it's important to note that we're mostly talking about "Trimming"...the Philips device has a riser on it so it doesn't have to *shave* that close. Myself, I don't think it would be comfortable to shave any body hair completely, so I'd suggest, again, just "trim" for comfort and cleanliness.

It's pretty damned good.  It ain't quite as close as a blade, but who wants to put a blade that close?  As for nicks and cuts . . . no problems at all.

Amen to that-I had to shave once for a surgical prep. Lemme tell ya-the most nerve-wracking hour of my life (yes, hour-I went VERY slowly!).
