what does the HOLE-IN-ONE on do on the Golden tees.

If you press F2 and go into the system settings there are a couple options for hole-in-ones.  Anybody know what they do?  Are they for registration for tournements

Not sure what version you are playing, but on the System 16 games (Classic and back) the hole in one tournament was for promotional purposes at the establishment where the game was played. For example, if you had the hole in one function on, if someone actually hit one it would set off sirens and different sounds.  Just a gimicky feature.
