Star wars ep 2
« on: August 27, 2006, 09:19:06 pm »
Is it just me or did they remove the trial when the jedi and padme are captured?

its on tv now and they skipped it (since its on tv figures) but also i think on the dvd.

did this scene exist or am i just making things up again?

Its possible it existed in the theather and was deleted for the dvd.  George Lucas likes to change his movies every chance he gets and I know some things were changed for the dvd's.  If they get released on HD dvd or Blu-ray, then they'll probably be changed again.

No, I don't remember the scene, but then the only time I ever saw the movie was opening day (4 years ago?) and I barely remember the movie, let alone one small scene.  I just remember thinking how crappy the movie was.   ;D

I don't remember any trial from when I saw it in the theater-toss me some more details (like when you remember it being in there, how long it was), I might still have a theater cam copy of it around here on a DVD somewhere.

I don't remember it either.  Perhaps it was in the book but not the movie?  Typically, books have more details then movies.

naw i didnt read the book for this episode.  ive only read ep 3s novel and i stick to the expanded stuff.

it was after luke and padme get caught they are brought before poggle the lesser who is viewed as a puppet i think by padme (she said this to skywalker) and that the trial is to give them an excuse to kill them.  they are charged with episonage.

maybe i did make it up because deep down i want a secret tribunal to rule everything and execute anyone anytime.  maybe ill rewatch ep 2 on dvd.  it wasnt as bad as ep1 and the clones were good.  best part i thinks.  so they should just skip everything else and show clones.  hell if they should the clones being trained from childhood id watch that.  clones clones clones.

lucas sucks by the way.  i was at my local toysrus and asked if i could have the giant darth vader helmet mask on display and the guy was like no.  i would but lucas wants everything single on destroyed.  and i was like hmmm hes been corrupted by the dark side.  and cant you like say you broke it but really let me have it?  he said no cause we have to send in the damaged one to prove its damaged.  i hate him.  not worker guy but lucas.

I remember something changed in episode 2 as well....I swear that in the end when anakin and padme get married, and they show his hand...I was a different hand that shown in the theatre...I remember laughing so hard when I saw the hand it the theatre cuz it was like big, gold, and missing a finger. Now when I watch it, I swear they redid the hand....

anyone else notice this, or have I gone as insane as george lucas?

Don't remember that and I have seen it quite a few times both at the theatre and on DVD.  You are right though, the clones are very cool.

Vigo, don't remember that either from the movie.  I do remember them showing his new hand but not being gold minus a finger.  But then, the parts with Anakin and Padme bored me.  Not enough action!   ;D

The movie wasn't bad, just mostly Anakin's dialogue.  Padme's was nothing to crow about either.

Actually I do remember that trial, although without any specific detail. It was a short scene which didn't add anything at that moment of the movie, I guess, or everyone would be remembering it too. Everyone was expecting jedi-action instead.

Could it be a deleted scene on the DVD?  I'll break it out shortly and look.

Hey Sith, when you saw the movie at the theater did you happen to see it on a Digitally projected screen? There were 2 cuts of Ep2 (and Ep3 I believe).  The cut shown on the digital screens was a few minutes longer and included a few scenes not in the "regular" film cut.. possibly the scene you are refering to was in that cut..?

I am pretty comfortable with my avatar, but maybe you star wars guys could put this one to use.
It's a scene from the ultra mega super special directors cut version.  ;D

yoda isnt sith so i cant use him.

it was seen in my town's theater nothing special.  i would guess i saw the shorter version then.  but i do remember that scene very well.  it might have been in both and been cut from the dvd for a stupid reason.  its like taking jar jar out of ep1.  sure you could but then who will you hate.

ill check my dvd since i havent had the chance recently.  there has to be a method to this madness.  but at least ive managed to make others believe me.  isnt that called mass hysteria.

LUKE and Padme?  For a guy with a Star Wars based name and avatar - that could be embarrasing.

It's on TV.  They edit movies to fit in the alloted time for TV all the time.  And secondly - Who the hell cares?.
