Trying to get Monitor to work with J-PAC
« on: August 27, 2006, 02:52:27 pm »
Well,

My buddy bought an NBA Jam Tournament Edition at the Atlanta Super auctions this weekend.  He decided he wanted a MAME machine so we ordered a J-PAC and started getting the machine ready.

I think I'm pretty close at getting this working, but I'm having trouble getting the resolution correct for the NBA Jams monitor.

We looked all over the darn monitor for a model number or hint so I could figure out the resolution, but all we could find is RCA on the tube in an area where the rest is hard to read.

We've downloaded Powerstrip and have it setup and tried the 640x480i custom resolution in it, but the screen still seems out of sync.

We can make out some of windows on the screen and can see part of the powerstrip screen still on it when we plug it in.  I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but it does look somewhat like a jigsaw.

I've tried a few things in the Powerstrip section of the WIKI, but am looking for other ideas.

We bought a couple different video cards and currently are using an ATI Radeon 9200 I beleive which seems to allow the lower resolutions and refresh rates.

Any guidance from those more experienced?

A picture is worth a 1,000 words.

But I'm guessing it's a 25K7000.

I'll grab a picture of it tonight.

Is it possible this monitor is not 15hz?

K7000 is standard res.

But if it's not a K7000 then anything's game.
