Help With Monitor?

I picked up the game, gunsmoke near me which i won on ebay and the problem was something wrong with power supply. Its' a centipede cabinet with all the wires and stuff and you can see the centipede burn on the monitor. I got it home and turned it on , but all i see on the monitor is an vertical orange bar of some sort, (see picture ). You can hear some of the game sounds somewhat.  Anyway, before i go further, anyone have any idea ? I have to take the back top board off the cabinet to really get into the see what the make and model the monitor is, as i can't see it now.
I searched all over the internet, with nothing, maybe i am looking in the wrong places..Hope someone can help.

Vertical collapse.  Could be caps, could be cracked joints.

You don't have to take the top off the cab, just remove the back door.

I'd go for the cap kit and solder joints theory with Peale.

I will have to take the monitor out to see the make and model # as they arent not visible right now. I will post later this week when i can get the monitor out.
i just did not know what the bar on the screen was.

You think its better getting a new monitor or just fix it. I also need a 19" monitor for my power drift stand up. Any standard res. will work?

Remember that regardless of what the cabinet is, someone could have changed out the monitor that was originally in it. In other words there could be just about any monitor in there. That's why it's important to get the make and model.

Some monitors are easier to fix than others.  You should at least *try* to fix it.

Haven't got to the the monitor in my centipede cabinet (which is supposed to run gunsmoke) yet, but i haven't tried the vertical horizontal buttons yet, as i looked at my other monitor which the colors were bad , but i fixed them and fooled around with the vertical and squished the pic like what the other monitor looked like. confused?
Now in the pic you'll see that the fuses on the power block thing has 2 wires cut and has been taped together. if you can see what i mean , is it normal? because i have the same thing in my other cab but the wires are connected to fuse.

The wires were probably taped together because the fuse kept blowing.  Not a wise thing to do.  Is that the fuse that handles the monitor?

I will check into it. the fuse is blown , yes. Ill see if i can some fuses, if there not hard to find and reconnect the wires, and let ya no what happened. after all, there are wires that have been snipped in a few places (which i took care of some). it seems like a bad trace somewhere around that area and the game board because i cant hear the game running, just some sounds if i keep powering the game on and off, like it is trying to come on. still a squished vertical bar. maybe something to do with a video connection?
I wanted a challenge and got one. Not as easy as it looks.

20 amp fuse (has the wires taped together), is that for the monitor?

I also took the pcb game out and turn the monitor on with same results and change the big blue cap and still the same. the game is at my inlaws so i dont have much access to it. i am trying to narrow it down more. but i suppose it needs a cap like everyone said. i just wanna know if the fuses keep blowing, what could cause it to happen?

Likely that fuse was put there in frustration because it kept blowing.  Then when that one blew they tied the wires together.

Should likely be no more than 3 or 4 amps.

What you need to do is pull the monitor chassis from the tube and start looking for obvious problems: cracked solder joints, burned parts.

yeah, i read the wrong one. F4--4 amps 250v is it. sorry.
