i swopped the whit and black over and the screen stayed the same but just smaller. ive checked all the wiring and took the videoboard apart to check for damage. nothing there tho. i gunna remake the video cable tommorrow so theres no junction box. ill get a camera again so i can take some pics for you.

you have either one of two faults;
1-no signal from video board
2-blanking fault on monitor
if you could get a different signal source on to your monitor it would prove the fault

you could hack a scart cable from a dvd just to see if it gives a picture(using the r,g,b)but you can't leave the picture on too long-to be honest if you work in the trade then just whip out the monitor, take it to work and rig it up on a video cab-like i said before you're going round in circles because you don't know if the fault is on the monitor or the cabinet, you have to prove one is o.k
blanking faults are usually caused by the i/c that decodes the signal from the game board in the monitor itself

without a pic i can't tell what it is,i would be guessing-but i guess the screen volts is too high -i have never seen a blanking fault on a kortek of that type, the only thing similiar i have seen is a broken contrast pot

i got a picture at last. is there a sensitivity control for the adjustment board because it is really sensitive and i can't get the screen to stay still.

right make sure now the sinc wire is in the correct place on the plug(because i think you swapped the sinc and common),then check for dry solder joints on the adjustment board and ant physical damage to the pots

its all working now, just the H-hold pot is broken i think because if u give it a wiggle it moves the screen so ill get a new 1 from work 2moz and that should be it for the screen. thanks for the help mate very much appreciated.
proberly need a hand on wiring the hopper when i finish this screen off. shouldn't be to difficult, should have a mpu4 manual at work.

i can't get the screen to stay still, its to sensitive. i replaced the h-hold pot but its still the same. is there any thing i can do to adjust the sensitivity. what does the white pot on the monitor board do, it next to the plug for the adjustment board.
thx

thats the b+ pot, don't touch-you may need to link the sinc wires h+v on the plug-i guess you have already tried the sinc switch, right?

many millions of years ago i had a game board called world rally that would never work with kortek but was fine with other monitors maybe you need to put a resistor on the sinc wire

just try a few low value resistors in parrallel until you get the right combination, start at 100 ohms-

yeah, but where will you find a wg7000 series in this day and age,two years ago i worked for gamestec(and no disrespect)every day the service managers would come and ask my advice on repairs, always i would help but is it not a discrace that a service manager not know how to repair anything-thats why i left for spain

i changed all the pots but carnt get the h sinc to stay still, i dont know were the h sinc cable goes on the video board because i carnt find any manuals to get the pinouts for it. even if i disconnect the h sinc the picture is still the same so dont think i need it any way. ive took a picture of the video board connection and of the video board and mpu4

just took the sinc wire off completely and now it stops for a few seconds when i adjust it, but then moves a little bit. i think i might be able to stop it tho. isnt it weird that it dont need the sinc wire

thats why i suggested putting on a resistor as the sinc signal maybe too high for that monitor btw your wiring is awful ;)

lol, thats good wiring that is.
what do u rekon i should do then, put the sinc back on with a resistor because i carnt get it to stay still. it only moves very slightly now tho.

if your happy with it leave it alone, but i would maybe try a few different values to see which suits best-but like they say "if it ain't broke don't try to repair it"

get some different value resistors from work(from 100ohm to 47kohm) and experiment, cause thats what learning is all about ;)
