Front end with simple list generation?
« on: August 26, 2006, 04:52:57 pm »
I would like to know from you guys, the experts, which front end or other program I can use to easily select the roms in a 'favorites list'. I am currently using Mamewah with the "most frequently played" option, which is kind of useful, but if I select a game that doesn't work, it stays in the list. I'm not sure how to remove it. With non-working games being in the list, guests at my house don't know which ones work and get frustrated.

I would love a simple way to select 200 roms or so, and just have those playable.

I can't speak for the othe FE's but MaLa has a very versitile gamelist editor that lets you maintain multiple gamelists and add and remove roms from them pretty easily. For instance, if there's a game on the master list that I play frequently, I can select gamelists from the menu and add the selected game to the list. If you want to "get under the hood," MaLa's game list editor lets you filter and rename the games in your list.

Cool. Sounds like just what I need. I'll be checking that out next. Thank you!

Check out AtomicFE also - it will generate a list for you, or you can go into a gamelist editor and add only those games you want. You can also create a favorites list on the fly - play a game, press a button and it's added to the favorites list. If you want to remove it, press another button and it's gone...
