Which console version of NFL Blitz is closest to the arcade?
« on: August 22, 2006, 10:46:46 pm »
I'm trying to find the closest version on a console to the original arcade blitz.  I'm thinking its blitz 2000 on the DC but its been so long I cant remember.  I just picked up 2001 on the DC but it just has too much of a different look than the arcade.  The newer versions arent as fun IMO.  Anyone have or remember how close blitz 2000 on the DC was to the arcade version?

The original N64 version is very close. Blitz 99 machines actually had an N64 memory card slot.

True.  I loved that game so very much.  The graphics werent quite as sharp as the arcade though  :( .  Does anyone have blitz 2000 for the DC?

well i picked me up a copy of blitz 2000 for the DC and its pretty damn close.  Something about those blocky players and speedy gameplay just makes me happier than the better looking, slower playing newer versions.

I would bet the PC ver would look best as it can be tweaked and they generally port over well. I personally emulate Blitz 2001 for N64 and I can turn up all the rendering options as high as they can go and it looks great and plays smooth. This is cuz the game hardly has anything too it, a few rendered players - thats about it. Still fun though.
