Mounting a 27" monitor in a 25" inch cab.. (need Betson Dimensions)

As the title says, I'm going to mount the 27" Betson digital monitor in the cab that I am work on. With 1UP being out of the universal mounts, I was wondering what the best way to mount this was. I can't build a 2x4 frame, because the monitor won't fit with that wood in the way. It's a shame, I have the old 25" mounts and bolts that would work great on a 25", but I can't find a 25" digital monitor. Let me know if you have any ideas to help me. Thanks!

I carved out a good portion of the insides of my two KIS cabinets to get my two WG DS9200's 27 inchers to fit in there. I had to custom make my own mounting brackets though, but hey, it was worth it. Besides, nobody really cares what the inside looks like anyways, as long as it plays great!

Yeah, I don't care about how the inside looks, I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of it. I was hoping that someone else did it so I can learn from what they did and then do it

Well, even though I'm pretty sure Betson is a universial mount, I need dimensions I can't seem to find anywhere. As in, if I build a frame like this one:



what is the width and the height of the actual monitor (not the mounting frame) that would have to fit in between the pieces of wood? Thanks!

Im in the middle of converting a cabinet. Orginally an NBA Jam cab made to fit a 25 inch arcade monitor (it even came with the original metal braces), but now it has a 27 inch tv instead.  I made custom braces from 4 metal L-brackets (heavy steel).  No wood brace, just 4 pieces of metal in the corners.  The clearance on both sides of the monitor is about 1/2 and inch or so, maybe less.  Ill take pictures later tonight, to show you what it looks like.

That's funny. The cab I'm working on is an old NBA Jam cab as well. I'd love to see those pics. Though I'm pretty much set on what monitor I'm using. I just wish I could get some measurements from someone...

Thanks man. It looks like the wood frame is a no-go, since it'll need too much room. I can't seem to think of a way to mount a 27'' in this cabinet. Back to the drawing board...

I have one of the Betson/Korteks in my MK2 cab (identical to an NBA Jam, I believe).  The way I did it was to build new monitor mounting "boxes" (just like the original ones, but with the posts and ledges in a different place).  The new ones are compatible with the old ones in terms of where they bolt onto the cabinet, but everything lines up for the larger monitor.

I may still have the drawings I used to build my boxes around somewhere, but they're reasonably easy to come up with.  I just used a tape measure to mark up the existing boxes then built new ones based on those using some sheet metal.

Let me know what you did please. I still have the metal mounting boxes, so I was thinking that maybe I could use those. Maybe saw off the bolts that are on there and drill new holes? I know nothing about metalworking, so I'm not sure what can be done...

What I did was mount the original boxes in the cabinet without the monitor and used a tape measure to measure out the dimensions of the new monitor, marking them on the existing boxes.  I then built new ones using the markings on the old ones as templates, but you could just modify the existing ones. 

You'd have to cut off part of the metal to use the existing ones as it will interfere with the "lip" on the new monitor's mounting frame, and of course the bolt would need to be moved as well.  Constructing new ones will probably require the ability the weld some things together.
