What are some dreamcast fighters not available on mame
« on: August 17, 2006, 08:49:53 pm »
I know that a few great 2d fighters aren't available on mame because of emulation, For example street fighter 3 3rd strike.  Does anyone have a list of some more that are on the dreamcast but not mame.

I saw marvel vs capcom 1 on mame but not 2, is it not emulated yet?

Well if you don't include the dreamcast emulator, mvsc2 is not emulated.  I've never tried the dc emulator before since my computer is not good enough so I don't know how well it works.  (I've read it works OK).

Anyway, here's the list of games I know of:

2D
Marvel versus Capcom 2
Guilty Gear X  (I highly recommend this one)
Capcom vs. SNK
Capcom versus SNK 2
Street Fighter 3: Double Impact
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Is this game any good?)

3D
Soul Calibur
Virtua Fighter 3TB

A good portion of those games are playable in Chankast with a amd 2800+ or higher and a gig of ram. You have to enable the CAPCOM hack in chankast to get good performance but thats just another click of the mouse.

Yeah I'm debating on whether to just put my dreamcast in the cabinet or to actually get the emulator setup.  Using the emulator with my controls would be alot easier, b ut I don't have to much space left on my hd.  I would be using a amd athlon 3000 64 with 1gb ram

Hard drives are cheap. Add one later.

Emulator isnt perfect. Some games dont play at all. Some have graphics glitches.

I am confused?
I only have 1 AMD PC ( Emachins w3052)
case shows 3000+ amd semptron processor
512 MB
120 gig HD
I can bump up to 1 gig in a matter of secounds.

I am used to intel chips

On the AMD chip PC I go to
start
control panel
system (I am using clasic view ) ( xp pro sp2)
computer shows
AMD Athlon (TM)
1.19 GHz 704 MB of RAM
(must have bumped up memory allready ( forgot i did that)

will this work?
i have 2 PCs at 1 gig
pent4 celerons 2.8
xp pro SP 2
will these work better?

Sadly, I don't think you'll get flawless performance with any of those.  However, the only way to find out for sure is to try.

You cannot compare clock speeds...........

Furthermore, depending on how Chankast and it's drivers are coded, it may prefer an Intel setup over an AMD one. I know nothing about Chankast, and few here do. Maybe a dedicated board to that emulator would know more.
