Nintendo Game Boy, Virtual Boy and Satellaview emulation
« on: August 14, 2006, 08:43:43 am »
Good morning.  A couple questions for you all.

  • What's the best Nintendo Game Boy emulator in your opinion?
  • What's the best Nintendo Virtual Boy emulator?
  • Is it possible to emulate the BS Satellaview for the SNES/Super Famicom?  What emulator is the best? Do you need a bios file?

thanks!

one of the best GBA emulators out there has to be virtual boy im sure. not sure about the others. but you wont need any kind of bios to emulate SNES.

BS Satellaview was/isn't nessarly emulated as much as people have hacked the roms from some of the games to get them to work in SNES emulators. At least i know this was done for the Zelda games that were released on it.
If you haven't been here yet, check it out.

I know the bios for the Stellaview can be found, although what use that would be I don't know.

Otraotaku, Do you have a link to this virtual boy gameboy emulator?

Does anyone else have recommendations for Game Boy or Virtual Boy emulators?

Don't bother with a VB emulator.  It can't be done properly.  The hardware is dedicated.

Get a VB.  They're cheap.

Give this site a try if you have never been there before.

http://www.zophar.net/windos.phtml

Most emulators are there.  Try them all a try if you want.  By the way, for gameboy, gameboy color, and gameboy advance the emulator visual boy advance cannot be beat.  There are also many cool skins that work with the emulator.
