My new toy - Top Gunner
« on: August 12, 2006, 07:36:37 am »
Hi all,

Here is my new toy that I will be picking up today, a Top Gunner Arcade conversion cabinet.
I picked this up local for a grand total of $50 smackers. ;D
Me and the wife loved playing Jackal on Nintendo, adn this is the same game. I am still in shock that she let me get it.

So does anyone have any advice for a first time real arcade machine owner? (my not assmebled taito mame cab doesn't count)

BTW, those are two wico 8-ways on that machine in good condition. SCORE! I'll probably be listing them for sale or trade on here, as I may be the only person in the world that prefers the clickety clackety of microswitch controllers....probably because I was a SFII generation kid.

Final Question - can someone identify the cabinet for me? I can take more pictures later on.

Congrats.

Make sure there are NO LOOSE PARTS or anything that can come loose inside before you move it. Then, once you get it home, recheck for loose items on the game board, PS, etc before turning it on.

Cheers

That monitor looks suspicious.  Never seen one that crooked before.  You'll want to look into that.  Btw it is a dynamo.  Of course that's like saying it's a nike shoe, every other cab since the late 80's was made by dynamo.

The monitor is fine...I thought the same thing at first. ;D
The monitor bezel has a cracked corner and it sits crooked, thus the crooked looking screen.

I decided to buy another one from the guy while I was there. A relief pitcher machine. I didn't really want it...but $50 is pretty hard to pass up. I can always play it until I'm bored and switch out the Jamma board for a game I want.

Both of the cabinets are solid, and the board and power supply in the top gunner look brand new.

Already gone. Another guy I know traded a Cueball wizard pin for the millipede and two other pins. Did anyone else notice the nintendo Vs. cabinet in the top gunner picture? I sure did...but the guy's kids voted to keep that one.
Another note, the coin box locks were never drilled, so I am the new owner of a little over $10 in quarters (and some broken crayons???) from both machines. SCORE!! ;D
