Good Bye! BYOACers...for about 5 days Due to new reulations, I can't take my laptop with me on my flight to Dallas for the auction. 

My father and I will be flying to Dallas to pick-up the U-Haul truck to go to the auction with. Surprisingly, that's cheaper than driving the truck up there and back, as U-Haul charges per mile for round-trip rentals.

Many of you know what happend today, causing regulations to change as of tomarrow

I won't be packing my computer in checked baggage, as some Randy Fromm dvd's and about $3 in quarters were stolen

I'd like to take this opportunity to say good bye as well, its been good and I'll miss you all.  I've decided to go to bed, so you likely won't see me around these parts for as long as 8 or 9 hours.

Are they being that strict on internal flights too?

I understand why they're not allowing any carry-on items on international flights, but I would think that you could take a laptop onboard for a short local flight. But maybe not.

On the news last night, they were talking about how our local aiport has upped their security measures in response to this new development...here is how their new high security system works.

Security guy: "do you have any liquids in that carry-on?"
Lady: "No sir, I don't"
Security guy: " Ok then, have a nice flight."

No joke, this is exactly what they said on the tv.  Don't I feel safer already.

This is gonna really mess up business travelers who use airplanes as their office. I see guys frantically typing away on airplanes all the time. These changes are really going to make a mess of things. No liquids?
What about the vial of nitroglycrin shoved up some terrorists butt. Are they going to start doing xrays and cavity searches of us as well. Crap, I always take food and drink on planes because a half can of coke is not nearly enough for me for a 4 hour flight. Don't get me wrong, I am in no hurry to get blowed up. But crap. I am worried that we will all be sitting on a plane in nothing but paper undies distributed by the airlines because terrorists come up with a way to weave c4 into a tshirt that can be detonated with the foil wrappers from airline peanuts.

I don't believe that is true either.  Only the UK, afaik, is limiting all carry on items.   

Here's the TSA webpage which makes it clear that laptops, ipods and cellphones are not prohibited.
