I'm using a Commodore 1084 wired up through RGB for MAME. I had it working once months ago but I'm using a different PC now. I've managed to get 640x480i to display without much trouble and I mananged to get through the advancemame config once and the resolutions all tested good but then it would display out of range and freeze when actually running a game. Right now I can't even get through the advcfg because the display goes out of range during the testing phase.
I'm using XP and a Radeon 8500.
I noticed in the powerstrip thread that "7" in the modeline means sync on green which might be my main problem since I am using composite sync and I took my modeline from the forums . Will using Composite sync effect me in other ways too? Does Advancemame need to know how to sync? Anyone have any tips? Would syncing on green make things easier or even be possible?
Once I get the system running I'll probably set up a small cocktail table of some sort. If switching to a 3DFX, Matrox or NVIDIA card helps I can do that. I know NVIDIA doesn't do composite sync though.
