Mamewah layout problem
« on: August 01, 2006, 07:52:53 am »
Hi everybody,
I'm having a problem with mamewah and my television....
The television is a 50Hz with video out and scart...
At the moment I'm tryin the VGA/SCART cable with powerstrip and images are almost good (only a little flickering I think due to 50Hz).
The flickerig effect makes me difficult to read well the game name on the mamewah layout...
Is there a way to make bigger the name?
Transforming my ATI RADEON 9200 in AVGA I might have nicer images? removing the flickering?

Can't you go into your display settings and set the refresh rate to 50Hz?

Open up the layout with the Mamewah Layout Editor. Select the game list field and change the font properties and save.

Had the exact same issue and Brad's fix did the trick!
I increased the font size and changed all text's to Arial font.  MUCH BETTER!  (not as cool as some of the other fonts, but definately more readable).

No problem. I did the same thing when I set my cab up. I'm surprised more people don't know about the layout editor though.

Cheers,
Brad

I use the VGA/SCART cable and powerstrip method also. I found the SLICKER font looks excellent around 11 or 12 size. I'm stuck at 640x480 any other res seems to overscan so you may need to play around with font sizes if you have yours working at another resolution.

Buks

PS I'm pretty sure the SLICKER font is free so just do a google search for it. I didn't come up with the idea I just noticed a few of the mamewah skins I liked used it.

The SLICKER font was a little tougher to find than I expected, so here is a link to where I got it from:

You are free to find your own, but good luck!

Thanks buks, I'll try it (does look cooler than Arial!)
