Tried to get Lasik today...
« on: July 29, 2006, 02:43:30 pm »
But it didn't work. When they were cutting the flap I could feel it and it hurt so my eye tried to close and it moved the suction ring out of place. It was over right then and there. THAT SUCKS!!! I still have to do all the drops and crap like I had it but I can't try again for 3 months! I am SO PISSED OFF! I got up at 5:30 on a Saturday for nothing. And now I am sensitive to light and my eye hurts and I still need glasses.

Sorry. I had to vent. I am pissed off.

That sucks, but still better then what happened to a friend of mine that got lasik.  They screwed up somehow and he was legally blind for several months afterwards, not even glasses helped anymore.  It took another 2 or 3 lasik operations to get his eyes to where they should of been after 1 operation.  My advice is to make sure you go with the best doctor in town, not the cheapest.

Hopefully it works out better for you next time.  My mother had Lasik surgery done about two years ago here at the Mayo Clinic.  She is still very happy with the results of the surgery and her eyes haven't fallen out yet. ;D

Well, considering the possibilities, it could be worse. But I was so looking forward to no needing glasses. I am sick of them. I will let you know how it goes in three months. Now that I know what is coming...

Wow.  You got lucky.  Imagine if it went worse?

As for going for the best over the cheapest... WHAT THE ---fudgesicle---... do you want to go to the lowest bidder to have them alter your eyeballs with lasers?

I'd rather go to the lowest bidder to be raped in the ass than for eye surgery.

Just for clarification, they aren't the cheapest. They aren't the ones with the add in the Sunday paper for $299 an eye. It is a very well known place and they have done over 80,000 procedures. (So they say) I wouldn't go to the lowest bidder. I like to be able to see.

Chad, I've signed you up for an ass raping next Saturday at noon.   :laugh2:

Drew can't get enough of me.  Years back I had surgery to make my buttcrack horizontal so that when I go down slides my butt goes PBPBPBPBBPBPBPBPBPBP.

I'm guessing they used the "numbing" drops and those didn't work on you? I had the Lasik procedure and fortunately had no complications at all. I went back for one "adjustment" and was fine.

Since I've had the procedure, I've been interested in the advances of nearsightedness correction. It seems to change every year with new equipment and procedures becoming FDA approved frequently. Here's the most recent advance that I'm aware of. http://www.intralasefacts.com/

Apparently, they don't use a blade to cut the flap. They use a faster laser (more "pulses" per second) that's able to create the flap using laser bursts. The doctor then peels back the flap simply and gently by just seperating the tissue.

May or may not be an option for you. Just thought I'd offer.

Have patience J_K_M_A_N. Soon you will be able to:
o   stand over a pot of boiling water and still see
o   see the soap residue in your shower (not necessarily a good thing if you clean as often as a bachelor does)
o   walk in the rain
o   wake up and see the clock across the room
o   see under water with perfect clarity

Heard of a whore who had that done, now being "air tight" is much more comfortable.  ;D
