Need recommendation (from someone other than Chad)

Gotta get a DVD Recorder.  I already know that Chad has had terrible luck with these, but I've gotta order one to hook up to a video conferencing unit at work so they can record conferences.  I'm thinking one with a built-in DVR would be ideal, but it would have to be one that can work just as a VCR/Time-shifting unit because we would have no desire or need for a subscription service providing TV listings and other TIVO-like functionality.

This is not for me to use.  I'm looking for absolute plug-and-play, lay-person, user-friendly simplicity, not power, so please no BYOPVR suggestions  ;)

shmokes,

The best advice I can offer is to check here.

This is a great website, and should be able to better assist you. I'm just now learning VHS to DVD transfers, and they've been super helpful with me.

Hey, if the company is footing the bill, go after one of the new Sony Pro CD Burners. We have one at the studio and use it for live shows so we can hand out copies quickly. When your event is done, hit finalize and 2 minutes later you have a dvd. They do have a built in Hard Drive if you need to store some stuff. But then you get into having to manage the HD so that you are not out of space when you need it most (Happens too often).

If you need multiples, then get a DVD tower with like 6 burners. Put the master in and about 3-5 minutes later, bang, you have a small stack of DVDs.

ERP-- EDIT, I Meant Sony Pro DVD burners.
