DS Browser
« on: July 25, 2006, 08:54:24 am »
Anyone importing the DS Browser?  Looks like backup devices won't be able to run it, as it includes a RAM expansion pack.  :(

Huh, looks like there is also a Standard and a Lite version.  I imagine the only difference is the size/style of the Slot-2 cart.

I didn't plan on impoting it, as I am pretty sure it is getting released in the US as well.

[EDIT]

Or maybe not...

I could have swore it had been announced for here, but it doesn't appear that is so. Just Japan and Europe.

If I do import it will probably be the European version, as it will probably include, if not be in, English.

I don't think it's been anounced but I'm sure it will have a US release in the future.  You can use English in the Japanese version and it looks like most everything is done with icons.

hmmmmmm

Maybe I will import it then. If it does have English, then it is certainly better than waiting the extra months.

I might check out the European version.

The PSP browser is pretty cumbersome and not a joy to use at all so I hope the touchscreen makes the DS browser an improvement.

Good?  Really?  The whole 1 minute to load Slashdot and 3 minutes to load CNN ruin it for me.  I admit the interface and actual browsing look decent, but that wait is much too long.  I think they need more computing horsepower to do web browsing properly.

for me sitting on the couch watching tv and using the ds on my wifi to browse the web ... the load times wouldn't be an issue at that point. i can see how it would get frustrating out in the wild.
