Spy Hunter Problem...Help Needed

Hey guys, I could sure use your help here with my first dedicated non-mame machine.  I have built 2 MAME machines(horizontal and vertical), but this is my first shot at getting a  classic going again.  Snagged this spy hunter yesterday in the classifieds for $100.  The seller said it played fine, then one day, it just wouldn

WIth out a load on that supply...you won't get a correct reading...but measure the voltage for 5 volts on an IC chip...

BTW, dont short adjacent pins :angel:

for example:      ____^___
                             1     +5v   
                             2       15
                             3       14
                             4       13
                             5       12
                             6       11
                             7       10
                        Ground   9

I am assuming that one side of the chip is negative and the other side is positive?  Across each pair of respective legs I should get 5 volts then?

NO ......in his diagram Pin 8 is the ground (-).... Pin 16 is the 5v (+)

You can use any ground point on the board though.

The end of the chip with the notch or notch mark is pin 1 and pin 16.



for example:                ___^___
                             1                  16 +5v   
                             2                  15
                             3                  14
                             4                  13
                             5                  12
                             6                  11
                             7                  10
                      Gnd 8                   9


You should also find the voltages on the schematic and measure the voltages going to the pcb/boardset itself. (if you haven't already)
