Popeye display not showing green.

The display appears to be fine, other than that.


Is this likely to be a monitor issue, or some other connection somewhere else along the line?






When adjusting the RGB gain dials, the green one literally has no effect.

I swapped the red & green video cables (duh!). It is definitely a monitor issue.

That being said...


Would I be able to just put one of the happ 19" cga monitors in there?

If it's the Sanyo 20EZ.....then no.
Not without the colors being all inverted.

1. Check the green pots with an ohmmeter to verify they are actually good.
2. Look for bad solder joints in the green curcuit resistors and transistors.
    (including neckboard and connector pins)
3. Test transistors in the green color curcuit for shorts.
4. Kick it real hard cuz this is where it gets complicated.

Good thinking on the color input swap. Most don't realize you can check the boardset that way. (verify it's a monitor issue)

You can if you have one of these, provided the Happ monitor's mounting frame will physically bolt up to your cab.

why don't you fix it, its only gonna be a transistor,dry joint(although your gun could be shot but unlikely),i guess it even could be on the invertor board

I am all for fixing it.

I don't really know jack about monitors though, so wasn't sure if it was a relatively easy fix, or an elaborate way above my head sort of fix.


When I get some kid free time next week, I will pull the board out and begin transistor and joint checking.
