I bought the ecplipse wireless controllers that were on sale at Best Buy for $40 a peice. The performance is acceptable for most things but not as good as a wired controller. I'm going to try to return them. I can't play tiger woods golf with them, I just can't hit the full power boost as easy  because its hard to time with wired controllers. The fit and feel of them is good. I especially like the size.

I might try the madkatz $60 wireless controllers but I expect the same results as the eclipse ones.

I hate my origanel large xbox controllers. Around Christmas I bought one of the new "S" controllers and like it for size but one of the analog sticks is not moving smoothly so I've worn it out already. 2 weeks ago I bought one of the new Microcon small sized xbox controllers. So far I really like it but it might be mostly because its a different size and my hands don't cramp up as much  if I use different controllers everytime I play.

I've found some rave reviews on that but no xbox version.  :(

I've used wireless keyboards that work great. My wireless network works great. I've used wireless mice that were good. My wireless phone is good. Eventually there will be a wireless xbox controller for the meantime I'm going to get some extension cords to run the cables around the room and out of the bubs reach.

logitech is making wireless xbox controllers now, and i've heard they're right on par with the wavebirds... problem is, they're EXPENSIVE!! (~$70 each!!!)...

I'd be willing to pay it if they work.

Edit: $55.87 at buy.com thats cheaper than the madcatz ones at best buy, but they are out of stock. Apparently no one has them in stock for any price, at least not that I've found yet.

Well I finally got one of the logitech wireless controllers. I paid $70 at my local Best Buy and let me tell you it is worth every penny. This controller performs as well or better than any wired controller that I've used. Its size, weight and balance are really good. The only complaint I have is I can't comfortably reach start and select while playing without moving one of my hands. This is also a feature though since I have bumped the start button on my other controllers while playing and have dropped out of a Halo game a few times.

Now the only problem is that I need to buy 3 more of these since it works so well.

eightbit -

that's good to hear. i think i'll wait (and hope) for the price to come down, though.. don't get me wrong, i would LOVE to replace my 4 xbox controllers with wireless ones, but considering i spent only about $110 on 4 wavebirds, i have a hard time justifying $70 for one xbox controller.

plus i wanna get my cabinet built before i go buying anything else.  ;)

I've been using my logitech controller for a week now and I absolutely love it. Everyone fights for it when we play. So I bought another one today. I still can't find them online so I paid $70 again from best buy for it. I even sprung for the $10 service contract on one of them. If anything goes wrong with it in the next 2 years best buy will replace it. Normally I don't do service contracts but if joysticks have taught me anything, its that they don't last.
