Digital Leisure's Dragon's Lair/Space Ace
« on: June 22, 2006, 04:42:24 pm »
I was checking out DL's website because I'm looking at adding Dragon's Lair and Space Ace to my current (or next) cab.  I always enjoyed them as a kid.  Anyone have any experience with their products?  How does it run on a PC?

I'm pretty sure I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to get Daphne running so this looked like a good alternative.

Daphne was real easy.  3 or 4 clicks and it was up and running.

The key to using daphne is not to bother making your own rips.  Buy the proper dvds so it's all nice and legal like and then download rips (with framefile) elsewhere.  As long as you don't have to make rips, daphne is butt-easy to setup.

Yep, the DVD driver that came with my copy was completely incompatible with my system (go fig) so I just transferred the data to my HD, ran a conversion utility on it and it ran fine with Daphne (if only I could figure out why only the DLE21 rom is working these days ??? ). So yes, the material on the DVD is excellent for Daphne fans. Buy it, dump it onto your HD, and use it with Daphne, stick the disk in a closet somewhere and forget it.
